This rich, creamy homemade hot Italian chocolate recipe is a luscious cold-weather treat
It’s so easy to make and absolutely one of our all-time favorite
. Serve it in small cups with softly whipped cream for
a decadent treat.

Sift cocoa and confectioners’ sugar over a bowl to remove any clumps.
Add salt and whisk to combine.
At this point, you can add finely chopped chocolate and package it as a gift, or to serve later.
Bring milk just to a simmer, then stir in the cocoa mixture.
Whisk well and continue heating over low heat until the chocolate is completely melted.
Keep hot chocolate warm over very low heat for up to 30 minutes.
Serve hot chocolate in small cups (it’s very rich), topped with soft whipped cream.
